A Bit About Me

Hi, I am Phil, a counsellor who works with adults who are struggling with certain aspects of their lives and are looking for positive changes.

After years of working in an unrelated industry, I chose to explore what came naturally to me and those skills that I naturally possessed, like empathy, compassion and listening pushed me in the direction of counselling and psychotherapy.

It wasn’t an easy journey, juggling, going back to college with family, and full-time work but being able to start Coast Counselling and experience the satisfaction of supporting clients in the many ways that counselling helps has been well worth it.

I bring a laid-back approach to the sessions, where we can work together, in an informal way to help you get where you want to be. You will not be judged, confidentially will be respected and you can choose the pace at which we work.

If you think we’d be a good fit, I’d be happy to give you a call so we can talk things through.

My Approach & Values

There are many different approaches in counselling, and being an integrative counsellor means that I am trained to be able to call upon any of these approaches that I think will best serve you.
In very brief terms, I tend to blend, providing a confidential, non judgemental space where you can be heard & understood (Humanistic), exploring your past experiences (Psychodynamic), helping you question your thoughts, feelings & behaviours (CBT) and how you interact with yourself and others (Transcactional Analysis).
Ideally, regardless of how we do it, I like to help clients find a deeper understanding and acceptance of themselves and their circumstances. We are all trying to get by in life as best as we can and I firmly believe everyone has the ability to instill positive change in their lives.

Counselling Services

Online

Coast’s online counselling service offers flexible, confidential support from the comfort of your own space and in your own time. We are dedicated to making our services accessible and affordable to adults across the UK.

Men's Counselling

Here at Coast we work with anyone from the age of 18 but specialise in working with men. Men are often taught to handle life’s challenges alone but unspoken stress and trauma can turn into anger, frustration, and relationship issues.

In Person

Coast provides a carefully designed space where you can talk openly and away from any distractions. There are several benefits of working in person for both the client ad therapist. Our space promotes all these benefits and more.
