Is counselling confidential?
Yes, everything that is mentioned in a session is confidential but there are some instances where a counsellor must breach confidentiality.
What are the reasons when a counsellor must share information with a third party?
There are specific legal and ethical situations when counsellors must share information with a third party.
Risk of Serious Harm - You are at risk of harm to yourself or to others.
Legal Obligations - An act of crime such as drug trafficking & money laundering or terrorism (Terrorism Act 2000) has or is likely to be committed.
Safeguarding - There is a child or vulnerable adult at risk of harm at any time.
Court Orders - A judge or coroner can legally compel a therapist to release their session notes or testify in court.
Supervision - As a member of the BACP, I am required to discuss my case load with my supervisor. This is done to ensure the quality of care, and your identity is kept anonymous during these discussions.
How long are sessions?
A session is 50 minutes long. If longer is required double sessions can be arranged for 1hr 50 minutes.
How much do sessions cost?
Sessions cost £55 per 50 minute session.
How and when is payment made?
Payment is either made by electronic transfer or cash. Payment is made after the session.
What happens if I can't attend?
Please give as much notice as possible. If I receive less than 24 hours notice I still charge for the session.
What can counselling help with?
Counselling can help with a wide range of issues.

How many sessions will I need?
Counselling can be both short and long term. This is usually the choice of the client, however if for whatever reason I think it would benefit you to be signposted elsewhere I would discuss this with you first.
Are you accredited?
Yes, I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
Who do you work with?
I see any adults over the age of 18. I see many male and female clients of all ages.
Do you work with children?
I don't work with children but I can signpost you to counsellors who specialise in this field.
What accessibility arrangements do you have?
At Chapter House where I am based, we can use the ground floor space which is easily accessible and private. I also work online to bring my service to those unable to meet me in person.
